I recently photographed a wonderful event for Children’s Hospital to pay tribute to all of the wonderful grandmothers who play an instrumental role in raising their grandchildren. One of the featured guests was Vontae Davis of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. Vontae and his siblings were raised primarily by their grandmother in Washington, DC.
The day started at Children’s Hospital, where Vontae and fellow NFL player Geoffrey Pope made some cards with the kids.
Then we headed to The Town Hall Education, Arts & Recreation Campus (THEARC) in Anacostia for a formal program honoring grandmothers and the work of the Grandparents Support Group.
Vontae’s grandmother Adeline was the featured speaker.
