Ollie and Lexie love the water, so what better way to capture them for their first professional photo session? One of the things I love about being a documentary-style pet photographer is that I always get to shoot in new locations, which keeps my creative juices flowing.

We had a beautiful evening in DC for Bear’s session. I was really looking forward to it after I heard that one of Bear’s tricks is a “fist pound,” basically a really enthusiastic shake. He didn’t disappoint! He also loves sticks and playing with new friends at the park.

I recently photographed a wonderful event for Children’s Hospital to pay tribute to all of the wonderful grandmothers who play an instrumental role in raising their grandchildren. One of the featured guests was Vontae Davis of the NFL’s Miami Dolphins. Vontae and his siblings were raised primarily by their grandmother in Washington, DC.
The day started at Children’s Hospital, where Vontae and fellow NFL player Geoffrey Pope made some cards with the kids.
Then we headed to The Town Hall Education, Arts & Recreation Campus (THEARC) in Anacostia for a formal program honoring grandmothers and the work of the Grandparents Support Group.
Vontae’s grandmother Adeline was the featured speaker.

Lauren and Cuyler planned a beautiful wedding at the Tregaron Conservancy in Washington, DC’s Woodley Park neighborhood. Every detail was well coordinated, and had a vintage feel. And the giant yellow balloon was a nice touch too. The one thing out of their control was the weather, and it was hot! Really, really hot. I felt for Cuyler in his black tux. But as hot as it was outside, I think it was even hotter on the dance floor!
