Sometimes I feel like a broken record, but I really feel like I’ve been blessed with such wonderful clients who effortlessly manage to merge elegance and fun into their weddings. Jenna and Danny were no exceptions. Their wedding at the Hotel Monaco in Alexandria was so much fun. We took advantage of the hotel’s location to walk around the beautiful side streets of Old Town finding ideal photo backdrops for their portraits and the bridal party photos. The reception was another fun one full of dancing. Al of Big Al Entertainment made sure the dance floor was packed the entire night!

Heather and Mark enjoyed a wonderful day for their wedding at the Bethesda Marriott at Pooks Hill. There was so much love surrounding these two from family and friends. Oh, and some really cute kids! As soon as Mark and Heather entered the cocktail hour, there was a line of nieces and nephews wanting Mark to flip them. He was a gamer! The reception was super energetic thanks to the wedding band Escapade! I think everyone was on the dance floor most of the night.

I was so looking forward to shooting Rachel and Roman’s wedding, as planner extraordinaire Pam Barefoot kept feeding me tidbits about all the wonderful things they planned for the wedding and the after-party! Although my expectations were sky-high, I was still blown away at how perfectly everything came together. One of the main highlights was the street fair-style after party, with everyone’s favorite carnival foods – funnel cakes, corn dogs, cotton candy, root beer floats, ice cream sundaes and popcorn! I’m not sure which was happier, my eyes or my stomach.
I’ve never seen anything like it at a wedding before, but Pam and her team at Atrendy Wedding have a way of making creative visions a reality. Rachel and Roman clearly put a lot of thought and effort into creating their perfect wedding (Rachel even designed the invitations!), and it was wonderful to see that vision come alive. Congrats Rachel and Roman, and thanks for having us document your special day!

Katie and Grant had a beautiful wedding at Hotel Monaco, one of my absolute favorite wedding venues in DC. Even though I’ve shot many weddings there, I keep finding new spots for photos! That’s the sign of a great venue.
Katie and Grant were so laid back and such a pleasure to work with. I love that they brought pirate-themed props for our Snapshot Studio photo booth! I only wish they could have taken me to Italy with them after the wedding!
Once again, I was able to work with a fabulous team of vendors. Katie Martin of Elegance and Simplicitycoordinated everything beautifully.

Among other benefits, engagement sessions are a wonderful way to capture a meaningful time in a couple’s life together. This was especially true for Maggie and Joe, who had just closed on a new house in DC a few days before our session. I loved the idea of shooting in their new house with boxes all over the floor. We started off the session at their favorite local pizza place before heading back to the house. So much fun!
